PART I: GENERAL INTRODUCTION TO TRAINING PROGRAM

2. Training objectives
 
2.1. General objectives
 
- To provide students with in-depth knowledge of Mechanical engineering and needed skills to become specialists in Mechanical engineering. To equip students with knowledge so that they can continue their PhD program in Mechanical Engineering;
 
- The structure of the program is built on an integrated and interdisciplinary approach whose aim is enhancing scientific knowledge and visibility so that learners can adapt to the constant change of science and technology;
 
- Students with foreign language skills, professional skills; having professional ethics; Having the ability to self-study, to raise the professional level; to be able to continue studying at higher levels, to accumulate experiences so as to become experts in management, operation and development of technology; lecturers, researchers, etc.
 
2.2. Specific objectives
 
- Graduated students are able to undertake works related to Mechanical engineering, technical work as chief engineer, in charge of technology in corporations, head and deputy of professional departments in research units or teaching in the subject of mechanics, applied mechanics in technical universities, etc.
 
3. Enrollment information
 
- Entrance examination subjects:
 
+ Basic exam: Examination in the form of competency assessment
 
+ Foundation exam: Applied Mechanics
 
+ Foreign Language: One of the following languages: English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean, Thai.

+ Having a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a major which is suitable to the Mechanical Engineering;
 
+ Having a formal university degree in the field close to the Mechanical Engineering or have taken additional courses to obtain the level equivalent to a university degree in Mechanical Engineering;
 
+ Conditions for seniority: No seniority requirements;
 
+ Other conditions under the master's training regulations at VNU.

PART II: STANDARD OUTPUT OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
 
1. Knowledge and professional competence
 
1.1. About the knowledge
 
1.1.1. General knowledge block
 
Knowledge of political theory
 
- Understand the scientific knowledge system of the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism;
 
- Understanding the basic, systematic knowledge of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morals, cultural values, the basic contents of the revolutionary line of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in the period of innovation in some basic areas of social life.
 
Knowledge of foreign languages:
 
- Achieve a level equivalent to the level of 3/6 under the 6-level foreign language capability framework for Vietnam.
 
- Understand the main ideas in the language that students are studying, master the communication in work and everyday life.
 
- Handles most situations that may occur when using the language;
 
- Simply write links about familiar topics or personal interests;
 
- Describe the experiences, events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and can briefly explain the reasons, explain their ideas and plans.
 
- Write clear, detailed text with a variety of topics and be able to explain one's point of view, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of the different options.
 
1.1.2. Basic and specialized knowledge
 
- Mastering specialized knowledge, be able to handle the work of specialists in the field that has been trained; have critical thinking; have in depth theoretical knowledge in order to be able to develop new knowledge and continue to study at PhD level; Having general knowledge of law, management and environmental protection related to the field of mechanical technology;
 
- Understand and apply basic and advanced interdisciplinary knowledge in applied mathematics: physics-math methods in mechanics, approximate calculus methods and applied numerical methods;
 
- Understand and apply in-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering to reinforce theoretical knowledge, practical experience of learned knowledge, apply that knowledge into practice. Provide knowledge to be able to continue the PhD degree.
 
1.1.3. Requirements for graduation thesis
 
- Thesis should be clearly presented in terms of content, methods and research results. Reference documents should be made and must be fully cited. Results should be commented, evaluated, compared. Students should indicate the main results (or content) that they have done by them-self.
 
- Know how to express the research idea, present the product in the form of a scientific report.
