Regarding international cooperation, the Faculty is now working with Korea Foundation for International Cooperation of Science and Technology on human resource exchange. Currently, there are two KICOS experts working in the Faculty.

In line with the Party and State’s policy on “ensuring proper balance between research institute and the university, combining researching – implementing with manufacturing – doing business”, the Faculty has paid great attention to the cooperation with high-tech institutes from the early days of establishment. Such cooperation has been counted as a contributing factor to the Faculty’s development. In general, the Faculty of Engineering Mechanics and Automation can be characterized as a new typical model of good balance between University, Research Institute and Industrial Corporation in academic affairs and scientific research. The most outstanding feature of this model is that the organization and management are implemented on centralizing and decentralizing basis in terms of human resource and infrastructure.

In accordance with the model of “Faculty under co-management” and the training activities on the society’s demand, the Faculty is now cooperating with a variety of institutes from Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, i.e., Institute of Mechanics, Institute of Aerospace Technology, Institute of Environmental Technology, Vietnam National Satellite Center; and institutes from Ministry of Industry and Trade, i.e., Institute for Machinery and Industrial Equipment (IMI Group), Institute for Electronics – Information Technology – Automation, Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering.

Along with promoting strategic and sustainable cooperation with research institutes, the Faculty has attached great importance to the creation of working partnership with enterprises to engage them in the design of training curriculum as well as the orientation for students’ professional development.

In addition, the Faculty is now cooperating with many international organizations in academic affairs and scientific research such as Paris University of Technology, Marseille University, Caen University (France), Stanford University (US), Hanover University, Ilmenau University, Institute of Electronic Engineering (Germany), Osaka University, Tokyo University (Japan), Seoul University, Pusan University, Pohang University (South Korea), Yuan Ze University (Taiwan) among others.
At present, the Faculty is strengthening strategic partnership with major South Korean Groups investing in Vietnam (LG, Samsung, VIDAMCo, Hyundai, etc) and producing positive results.
